TWO THINGS

Here are two things that are really worth buying. I've had a couple of their tapes for a while, but I recently purchased these items and it was very worth it. WEED DIAMOND and CLOUD NOTHINGS. Two of my new favorite bands right now.

This video was filmed and edited with the assistance of JORDAN BLACKMON, who is an amazing + great dude. Thanks go out to him, as well as Adrienne and Clark, and an even bigger thanks for them allowing us to crash at their awesome abode. This was filmed this Summer in San Francisco on a Panasonic VHS camcorder. It was a magical time.

Last night I saw Robert Lester Folsom in some dude's backyard, off of Ortega Farms Road. It was SO GOOD and you should buy his music because it is AWESOME. He is the master of chorus and flanger effects and also super nice guy. FL-AVA.

IHAVDREAM

I have a dream of one day running Blue's Woodpecker ribbon microphone, into an original Roland Space Echo (these are hard to find fully functional and even harder to repair + the proper tape replacement is hard to come by), and finally into the Universal Audio 710 Twin-Finity pre-amp/di. Yeah!

Also, I've been obsessively listening to LA GENTE E ME. It's so beautiful! I have the record, but I wish there were a proper video, or way to stream the song here online. Anyway, this particular video features all things Pele, cats, anything Brazilian, and Ornella Vanoni (...who is Italian). Ornella Vanoni is really awesome, and is mostly famous for L'APPUNTEMENTO (this video is actually really cool), but she was totally in Playboy back in the day too! Whoa! Forill. I recommend the album "a un certo punto" if you can get your hands on it.

I think this is so awesome. If you stick around for the end of Malaika (you should), you'll notice the Lion King theme song seems to be a mostly ripped off version of the aforementioned track. The group is from all over the Caribbean, but was put together and made popular in Germany during the 1970's.
